Blog is quiet because I’m working on content, not because I’m giving up on writing

I have been trying to post once a day, but I’m actually working on something that’s taking me a bit of time. I’d rather get something useful before posting it here, so that’s why it may be a bit before I get anything online.

I’m planning on doing sort of a three-part post:

Generating a more realistic scene in POV-Ray
Rendering (protein) structures in this type of scene
A python script combining molscript and POV-Ray for setting up the render

Stay tuned. I’m hoping that by at least posting the agenda, it will give me enough motivation to actually get it done :)

- At some point I sort of got to thinking about web information, in the form of blogs, wikipedia, etc, and into a philosophical mindset of "how do people judge the validity of what they find". I realized that most people probably just have some sort of "sniff test" - is the information plausible? From there it was a short jump to the phrase "Plausible Accuracy", which I thought had a nice ring to it.To me, it also sort of ties back into the idea of Imposter Syndrome - the feeling that no matter what I choose to write about on the blog, it's going to be sort of fundamentally flawed just because I've (of course) got gaps in my knowledge and half the time am discussing things that I really don't know as much about as I should.

Hi there! My husband and I often listen to audiobooks together. We also like a variety of genres, including SF/F. A couple of good ones include: His Majesty's Dragon by Naomi Novik, read by Simon Vance (Unabridged). This is the first in the Termeraire series. Storm Front by Jim Butcher, read by James Marsden. This is the first in the Dresden Files series. The Disappeared by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. This is the first in the Retrievers series.
